Thomas Richard “Rick” Banks, age 75, passed away on April 24, 2022. He was born in Whitesburg, KY on October 20, 1946, and later moved to Lexington, KY where he worked as a Physician’s Assistant in Radiology at Central Baptist Hospital for 38 years. He was a highly valued employee, both by the staff with whom he worked and his patients. He enjoyed the work he did at the hospital and the friends he made working there. Rick’s ability to make others laugh and the stories he shared created bonds with his coworkers and patients that lasted even after he retired and moved to Venice, Florida in 2012. Besides being a skilled P.A., Rick’s other passion was being a grandpa. He relished the times he had with his children and grandchildren. One of his greatest joys in life was providing for and taking care of his family. Surviving family members include his wife, Meri Beth Banks (of Venice, FL), son Dylan Banks (of Olathe, KS) Dylan’s wife, Clarissa and their children, Ali and Kalaylie Banks, son Rich Banks (of Louisville, KY) Rich’s wife, Beth, and their children Grace, Austin, and Thomas. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth (Williams) and Eli Banks; sister Shannon Banks; and infant son, Alex Banks. A Celebration Life service will be held at the Lexington Cemetery on May 6th at 2 pm. To share a memory of Rick or to send a condolence to the family visit www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
