Thomas “Tom” Carney of Venice, Florida passed away on September 10, 2024 at the age of 70.  He was born on April 12, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA. Tommy and his wife Karyn moved from Cape May, NJ in 1998 to start their own business. Tom has been the proud owner of T.J. Carney’s for 26 years.

He was a wonderful husband to his wife, Karyn and an incredible father to his three daughters. He was the ultimate Girl Dad and an amazing family man.  Everything he has ever done was for his family. Tom was the most loving, caring, funny, generous, free-spirited person around. Always trying to bring joy to others around him. When he wasn’t cooking and entertaining guests at the bar, you could always find him golfing or boating.  Tom’s one of a kind Irish spirit will be missed by so many. His memory and legacy will carry on through his wife and daughters.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Karyn; three daughters, Tomi, Joey & Johnny; a brother, Joseph P. Carney; a sister, Ree Dunphy and sister-in-law, Kathleen O’Donnell.  He also leaves behind seven nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Marie Carney and his sister, Patricia Carney.

A memorial mass will be held at 1:30PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice.  A reception will follow at T.J. Carney’s on Venice Avenue. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements. To send a condolence or memory please visit www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
