Thomas ""Pete"" Leo Ehmann passed quietly in the early hours of October 24, 2013 after a rapid and merciful struggle with cancer. Born November 13, 1942 in Rochester, New York, he lived most of his life in Wellesley, Massachusetts before retiring to Venice, Florida. A graduate of McQuaid Jesuit High School, St. Michael's College, and Babson College, he worked as a minority business consultant in the greater Boston area. Tom served in the Peace Corps, stationed in Malawi, from 1964 to 1966, and was a founding member of the Boston Area Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. Upon retirement, he and his wife Marion returned to Malawi and volunteered at the Malawi Children's Village for six months. Survivors include his daughter Marion Ehmann Peklo and grandchildren, Henry, Emma, and Ophelia of Minneapolis, MN, his sister Elizabeth Kelly of Rochester, New York and sister in law Marsha Bourbeau of Winter Park, FL. He was predeceased by his wife Marion Sheehan Ehmann in 2011. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he led a simple life, in the best way; finding great and sincere enjoyment in golf, learning to play the piano in recent years, crosswords, and the company of friends. Always a student of the world, he was quick to clarify that he was a traveller and not a tourist. Per his request, a private memorial will be held with immediate family. Memorial remembrances can be made to Tidewell Hospice, Philanthropy Department, 5595 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34238.
