Thomas Francis Knotts COLUMBIA-Funeral services for Thomas Francis Knotts, 75, of Columbia, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at Virginia Wingard United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. John Culp. Entombment will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Mr. Knotts died Friday, September 23, 2011. Born in Urbana, Ohio, he was the son of the late Leo James and Helen Haney Knotts. Formerly of Jacksonville, FL, he had been a local area resident since 1973. Mr. Knotts was owner and operator of Guarantee Carpet Cleaning until his retirement. Surviving are his wife, Patsy H. Knotts of Columbia; daughter, Melisa K. Watford (Joey) of Irmo; son, Jeffrey S. Knotts (Kelley) of Greer; five grandchildren, Heather W. Studley (Patrick), Amber W. Ridenhour (Johnny), Christopher Watford, Michael Knotts, and Haylee Knotts; and five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Benjamin and Caroline Studley, Julia and Bradley Ridenhour; sisters, Kathleen Delzell of Palatka, FL and Felice Knotts of Satsuma, FL. He was preceded in death by his sons, Steven L. Knotts, and infant son, Michael T. Knotts, sister, Mary Lou Sherry and two brothers, Daniel Knotts and Edward Knotts.
