Timothy Ian Murphy passed away on the morning of August 30, 2020 at home, surrounded by his wife, Carmen, and children, Blake and Ally, after an extended illness that he battled for almost 4 years. Tim was born on September 5, 1960 to Matthew P. and Dorothy H. Murphy at Edwards Air Force Base in central California, the fourth of the family’s 9 children. Although the family moved frequently, they finally settled in central Ohio, where Tim formed relationships and had experiences that shaped the man he was to become. After high school, Tim worked for a few years before accepting a call to serve an LDS mission in Santiago, Chile. He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1988 with a degree in Business Finance and worked for Anderson Consulting and LifeCare Centers of America before deciding to pursue his entrepreneurial goals. Tim established his own real estate brokerage, A Better Broker, and co-founded several physical therapy clinics. His greatest and most rewarding business venture began when he joined Modern Vascular, where he and Carmen were privileged to work with amazing partners whom they deeply love and respect. Tim and Carmen were sealed for time and eternity on November 16, 1991 in the Las Vegas Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Tim is survived by his wife and children; his mother; his in-laws, Paul and Carmen Murray; brothers Kevin (Robin), Brian (Maricela), Richard (Kit), Allan (Lynley) and Patrick, and sisters Grace, Kathleen and Mary Ann, in addition to many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday September 4 from 6-9PM at the Legacy Funeral Home Rose Chapel, 1130 S. Horne St in Mesa. Funeral services will be held the following day, September 5, at 10AM, also at the Rose Chapel. Please join us immediately following the service to celebrate Tim’s birthday. Interment will follow at the City of Mesa Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Underground, to stop child trafficking.
