Timothy Carl Wirtanen

Timothy Carl Wirtanen, 22, of Duluth passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 in his home. He was born January 29, 1996 in Duluth to Peter and Cheryl (Thompson) Wirtanen. He grew up in Saginaw and graduated with Honors from South Ridge High School in 2014. Tim served in the Army National Guard since 2013 where he worked as a Chinook Helicopter Mechanic. He was currently employed at Cirrus Aircraft. Tim enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing hockey, running and spending time with family and friends. Tim was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Marjorie Thompson; and his paternal grandfather, Paul Wirtanen. He will be sadly missed by his parents, Peter and Cheryl of Saginaw; sisters, Amanda Wirtanen of Brookston and Emily (Nick Lorenz) Wirtanen of Chisholm; grandmother, Shirley Wirtanen of Cloquet; nephew, Ashton; and many aunts, uncles, and friends.
