SOUTH CONGAREE—Funeral services for Troy Herbert Crider, 87, of South Congaree, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Congaree Baptist Church. Pastor David Mullins will officiate. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Memorials may be made to Congaree Baptist Church, 101 Pine Ridge Drive, West Columbia, SC 29172. Mr. Crider passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Born in St. Matthews, he was a son of the late, Herbert Lee Crider and Eula Mae Herlong Crider. He was a member of Congaree Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of D.A.V. Cayce Chapter and Springdale Masonic Lodge and the Jamil Shrine. Surviving in addition to his loving wife, Carolyn Herlong Crider; son, Donnie Crider (Beverly) of Columbia; grandchildren, Stephanie Martin (Ken) and Troy E. Crider; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Kaitlin Martin.
