Tyne Marie Plotnik
October 26th, 1913 - May 7th, 2008
Tyne Marie Plotnik, 94, of Floodwood died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake. She was born October 26, 1913 in Hibbing to Charlie and Jennie Louhela. She grew up in the Floodwood and Gowan areas and graduated from high school in 1933. In 1938 she married Robert Arro. Robert died in 1951. Tyne married Theodore Plotnik in 1962. She worked at the Floodwood school in the lunch program for 25 years, retiring in 1976. Tyne was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and the Floodwood Senior Citizens. She was instrumental in building the Senior Center in 1975. Tyne was preceded in death by both of her husbands; brothers, Henry, Matt, and Edwin Louhela; sister, Anna Siikanen; and step-daughter, Mary Ann McCaffey. She is survived by her children, Dennis (Marilyn) Arro, Donald (Suzzane) Arro, and Roger (Debra) Arro all of Floodwood, and Kathryn (Lanny) Cyr of Bemidji; step-children, Donald Plotnik of Central, SC, Marlene Kniivila of Santa Rosa, CA and Janet Cummings of Sacramento, CA; brother, John Louhela of Villa Vista; sister, Aune Rahja of Grand Rapids; six grandchildren, Robert, Kevin, Cole Quinn, and Brandee Arro and Dawn Vosberg; and four great grandchildren, Megan and Katie Vosberg and Wylee and Grant Arro. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 in Hope Lutheran Church in Floodwood. Burial was in Hope Lutheran Cemetery. Lunch and fellowship followed at the Floodwood Senior Center.
