Viola C Ferguson, 87, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. She was born March 9, 1928 to the late James and Alpha Thomas Carter. Viola was the granddaughter of the late Dr. William and Ann Carter. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Viola is survived by her sons; Roger Carter, Robert Ferguson (Jayne), Raymond Ferguson and Richard Ferguson (Ginger); daughters, Darlene Shull, Martha Wingard (Bennie), Mary Nobles (Robbie), Betty Ferguson and Nancy Emanuel (Joe). She is also survived by seven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; and two brothers, James and Harold Carter. Viola was predeceased by her husband, Phillip W. Ferguson; and sons, Phillip and Alfred Ferguson; and brother, J. T. Carter. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with burial to follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens, West Columbia. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 200 State Street, West Columbia. Memorials may be made to Bethany Bible Church, 2841 Taylor Road, Cayce, SC 29033
