Age 83 of Mendota Heights, MN. Died peacefully Wednesday, February 8, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Preceded in death by husband, Vernon; son, David; great-grandson, Tristan; parents, Harry and Gertrude Stathas; siblings, William Stathas and Connie Palmer. Survived by her children, Bruce (Michele) Colon, Cara (Rich) Barone, Catherine (Ken) Kilker, Corrine (Dave) Kodelka-Ribar, Connie Colon, Mark Colon, and Carolyn (Mike) Pilney; her twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Adrian and (Jerry) Peterson, and Helen Palmer. She was born on March 16, 1933 to Harry and Gertrude Stathas in St. Paul, MN. She attended Chelsea Heights grade school and Murray High School. On June 16,1951 she married Vern and went on to lovingly raise their eight children. Virg loved the theater, music and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. During the winter months in Minnesota they lived in sunny Rancho Mirage, CA where they surrounded themselves with close friends and enjoyed the warm weather. Her family was her world. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM Saturday, February 11 at the CHURCH OF ST. JOSEPH, 1154 Seminole Ave., West St. Paul. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation at Church 9:30-11:30 AM Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
