Vve "Lucy" L. Ridgeway
August 10th, 1953 - September 25th, 2024
In Loving Memory
Vve L. Ridgeway (Lucy), 71 of Columbia, SC, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 after a battle with cancer. She was born August 10, 1953 and was the daughter of the late Randal Dickson and Nora Driggers. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Randal Dickson.
Lucy leaves behind her three children, Amanda (Amy) Timmons of Columbia, SC, Brian Timmons (Christa) of Sumter, SC, and Alva Ridgeway Jr. of Sumter, SC; her brother, Matt Driggers (Becky) of Sumter, SC; grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and close friends. And we can’t forget, her “fur-baby,” Jolee.
Lucy worked as a Registered Nurse for 38 years. She enjoyed all aspects of her education and profession. Even after retiring, she still continued to teach future nurses. She enjoyed karaoke, decorating, traveling, and most of all laughter.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and their staff for the amazing care and support provided to our mom during her illness.
Lucy has requested a private service. We would also like to thank Thompsons Funeral Home for their professionalism and dedicated care provided during this difficult time.
