Walter Tovar

Walter Tovar, 70, of Longmont Colorado went home to be with his heavenly Father on June 16, 2014. Walter was surrounded with love from family and friends at home as he passed. Walter was born on July 6, 1943 in Johnstown Colorado. He attended and graduated from Johnstown High School in 1960. Walter honorably served our country through the Army National Guard. Walter had a true love for cooking amazing food. He owned La Cabana Del Rio until the Big Thompson flood in 1976. Walter had passion for his family, and truly enjoyed playing golf. Walter was preceded in death by his mother and father, Alfonso ad Augustina Tovar, his brothers, George, Gilbert and Alfonso Jr, his sons Walter Jr and Kevin Tovar, his granddaughter Taylor Hoover, his niece Lonnie Johnson, and nephew D.J. Johnson. Walter is survived by his brother Robert (Nancy) Tovar, his sister Rosie Tovar, and Ruby (Roger) Johnson. His children Tim (Jackie) Tovar, Angela (Bill) Whilhelm, Brandon Hoover, Tina (James) Hipolito and Andrea Hoover. Walter is also survived by his loyal and trusty companion Blossom, who was by his side until the very end. Walter has so many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews who loved and cherished their time with him. Walter had a kind and loving spirit for all. He truly loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all he touched throughout his life. A memorial service is set for June 28, 2014 at 10:30 AM located at Front Range Christian Fellowship Church. 10667 Park Ridge Ave. Longmont Co 80504 A reception will be held in the Agape Hall at the conclusion of the service.
