Warren E. Binder
June 23rd, 1940 - March 29th, 2024
Warren Binder, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on March 29, 2024 at the age of 83. He was born on June 23, 1940 in Plymouth, Massachusetts and moved to Sarasota in 2023 from Parkland, Florida. Warren was known and loved for his quick wit, warmth, and charisma. He will be remembered as a man who loved nothing more than being surrounded by family. To him, family included cherished immediate family, beloved extended family, friends and work family. Warren was blessed to have so many loved ones with whom he shared decades-long friendships. He was a trailblazer in his career and a mentor to countless others who came up after him. Warren was a member of the Hurricanes AZA Class of 1958 and graduated from the University of Miami in 1962. Warren served in the Army National Guard. He was a Hospitality Marketing and Tourism Executive for over 60 years and Executive Committee Member of Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association. He earned many awards including Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association Allied Member of the year in 1999 also served on their Executive Committee and member of Skal International. Warren is survived by his wife, Lori (Laureno) Binder; five children, Neil Binder and his wife Rachel Karliner, Marjorie “Marji” (Binder) Maginnis, Adam Binder, Stephanie Binder Fuentes and her husband Ben Fuentes, Matthew Binder and his fiancé, Inna Sakhniuk and seven grandchildren, Eli, Julia, Daniel, Dylan, Jac, Zachary and Alex. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene (Resnick) Binder, father, A. Harold Binder and a sister, Judith Binder. A gathering will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 beginning at 12:30PM with the funeral service to begin at 1:00PM at Farley Funeral Home in Venice. A graveside service will take place at Venice Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association Education Foundation. Link to website.
