Wayne John Bauer

May 20th, 1938 - December 26th, 2023

Wayne Bauer, of Longmont, CO, a pillar of strength, love, and wisdom, departed this world to be with his loving wife of 64 years, on December 26, 2023. Wayne was born May 20, 1938, in Estes Park, CO to Carl and Inez (Vittetoe) Bauer. Wayne lived a life marked by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He was a devoted husband to Jennie Bauer (Scoles), and together, they built a life full of shared joys, triumphs, and enduring love. After his family moved to Loveland, CO, he attended Loveland High School where he met his future wife, Jennie Scoles.  Wayne married Jennie in Biloxi, MS where he was stationed in the Air Force, on June 20th, 1959. They moved to Longmont in 1963, then to Niwot, CO in 1973, where they raised their 2 children. As a father, Wayne was a source of inspiration, guidance, and boundless love. His wisdom, kindness, and gentle spirit left an indelible mark on the lives of his children. He instilled in them the values of integrity, perseverance, and the importance of family bonds. In addition to his role as a loving family man, Wayne Bauer was a cherished friend to many. His generosity, sense of humor, and ability to make others feel valued created lasting connections that spanned a lifetime. He was a beacon of support, offering a listening ear and a helping hand whenever needed. Professionally, Wayne Bauer worked for over 25 years at IBM leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication that will be remembered by colleagues and peers. He volunteered as a tutor for the school district and at Casa Esperanza. At Calvary Church he served as a Deacon, and taught Sunday School for many years. In his free time, Wayne enjoyed reading, figuring out puzzles and fixing anything around the house. He is preceded in death by his wife Jennie Bauer and is survived by: daughter Kristi (Steve) Wirtz of Firestone: his daughter Amy Bauer of Longmont: 5 grandchildren: Ryan (Desiree) Froshaug of Longmont: Anna (Chris) Hood of Loveland: Alexis Bauer of Longmont: Emily (Tyler) Rose of Windsor: Bea Moore of Longmont: He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren: Ella, Felix, Mason, Adalynn, Daphne and Ava: and niece Cheryl Gallegos and her family of Cornelius, OR. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Calvary Baptist Church of Longmont or The Our Center. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have offered their condolences and support during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a source of comfort. His memory forever lives in the hearts of those who were privileged to share in his journey. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be at 2:00 pm January 5, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church, Longmont CO 80501.
