Wayne Lee Farrell, Jr.
August 24th, 1954 - July 21st, 2021
Wayne Lee Farrell, Jr., 66, died July 21, 2021 in Buena Vista, Colorado. He was born August 24, 1954 to Wayne Lee, Sr. and Hazel Mabel (Thompson) Farrell in Grenada, Mississippi.Lee lived life to the fullest and was a free spirit, and over the years he made many longtime friends. He began as a disc jockey at a radio station in Lake City, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Pharmacy. Lee also founded, was the bandleader, and played the trombone in The Cigar City Big Band in Tampa, Florida, which is known for its 1940's big band swing style.Lee was a private pilot and owned his own airplane. In the 1990's he attained a commercial pilot's license, but for pleasure he enjoyed flying small airplanes and took great pride in his 1980's Ford F-250 and his beloved Chevy Blazer which he affectionately named "Mean Mabel". Later in his life, Lee moved to Colville, Washington because he fell in love with the scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest, and it afforded him the opportunity to live the life he wanted. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Lee, Sr. and Hazel Mabel Farrell.Lee is survived by his sisters, Laura (Neil) Buckley and Mary "Libby" (Michael) McKee; and his cousins, Rita (David) Hankins, Whitney Lewis Espinoza, Barbara Lewis, Gail Thompson, Jenni Farrell (Dana) Taylor, and Larry Raspberry.Lee will be sorely missed by all those who knew him and will never, ever be forgotten.
