William Francis Brant went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2011. The funeral will be held 2:00 pm Monday, March 14, 2011 at Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel of Columbia, 845 Leesburg Road. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park - Serenity Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00 to 2:00 with the service beginning at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to First Baptist Church of Columbia - Deaf Ministry, 1306 Hampton Street Columbia, SC 29201. Francis Brant was born on May 27, 1924, in Ulmer, S.C., to the late Joseph Martin and Fairey Belle Creech Brant. He was married to his beloved wife, Mollie Work Brant, for 64 years. Surviving children of the marriage and their spouses are Alton and Ginny Brant of Seneca, S.C., and Milton and Sandra Brant of Irmo, S.C. His five precious grandsons include Joshua Brant (wife, Sydney), Jonathan Brant, Harrison Brant, Nathan Brant, and Caleb Brant. He is predeceased by his brother Harry Brant (York) and his sister Ruby Poole (Mullins). Mr. Brant attended the SC School for the Deaf and Blind. He was a long time member of the First Baptist Church Deaf Ministry - Columbia. He was an active member of the SC Association of the Deaf. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
