Age 89, of St. Paul Preceded in death by parents, Esther and Everett Burch; survived by wife, Nola Kathleen "Kit", daughter, Jean Lubke; son, John (Robyn) and grandsons, Jonathan Lubke (Caroline) and Michael Lubke (Kathryn Jacob). Earned the Boy Scout Eagle Scout Award, played football for Murray High School on their championship team, and graduated valedictorian of his class in 1944. During WW11 joined Navy V-12 program, went to St. Thomas then to Miami Univ. of Ohio where he met Kit and earned a BS in Business. A US Naval supply officer during Korean War he retired from the Reserves as a Commander. Received his CPCU and became the owner of the Snelling Insurance Company in 1956. On selling the agency, he became the owner of Lynn Temporary clerical help service. Retired in 1985 and started traveling extensively. Over 25 years delivered Meals on Wheels for Wilder weekly and cooked for Loaves & Fishes monthly. Loved downhill skiing in the mountains until he was almost 80. Was an artist creating 700 sketches of scenes from Great Britain and sending them as Christmas cards for 20 yrs. Bill and Kit were married 69 yrs. Memorial service will be held at House of Hope Presb. Church, 797 Summit Ave., St. Paul, Saturday, August 1 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation Sat. 11:30-12:30. Burial at Ft. Snelling 8/3. Memorials preferred.
