William MIllard
October 14th, 0964 - May 20th, 2019
William Scott Millard, “Scott”, age 54, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2019 at his home in Elizabeth Colorado. He was born October 14, 1964, in Newton Iowa, to Harold “Hal” and Jerie (Deaton) Millard. Scott was a 1983 graduate of Overland High School in Aurora, CO, and was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy. He and his wife, Dawn Michele Scott, “Michele” began their marriage on Jan 8, 1992, and honored their vows until parted by death. Scott loved his family more than anything, and would set everything else aside to visit with his daughters Heidi and Samantha, and granddaughters, Maija and Rylie. He was known to his granddaughters as Papa. To say Scott enjoyed airplanes and flying would be an understatement. He obtained his Solo Endorsement on his Student Pilot Certificate before he even had a Driver’s License. He went on to earn his Private Pilot Certificate, his Instrument Flight Rating, his Commercial Certificate, and his High Performance Endorsement. While in the Navy, Scott was an Air Traffic Controller. In civilian life, Scott fueled jets at Stapleton Airport for a few years before starting a career in Computer Aided Drafting. Later in his career he owned and operated his own construction business, then owned and operated his own Drafting and Design business. For the last year he was employed by Cisco doing Computer Aided Drafting. Scott is survived by his wife, Michele, his daughters Heidi Millard, and Samantha (Jacob) Roberts, his granddaughters, Maija Clark and Rylie Roberts, his parents, Harold and Jerie (Deaton) Millard, his sister, Christie (Allan) Reed, his brother, Mike and his wife, Lauren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. There will be a celebration of life for Scott this Sunday (5/26/2019) from 2pm – 5pm at his home: 37988 County Road 5, Elizabeth, CO 80107. If you can make it, please dress in comfortable, casual attire. Blue jeans and t-shirt are appropriate.
