William E. "Bill" Mortimer
August 23rd, 1933 - December 29th, 2016
William (Bill) was born in Boston, MA. He graduated from Northeastern University in Boston with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Bill had a long and successful career, specializing in design and consulting for dryer systems used in the pulp and paper industry. He started his career with Ross Engineering and worked for several leading Engineering firms, including Charles T. Main and Stone & Webster. Bill enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a long time member of the Easton Rod & Gun Club. Bill and Angie celebrated their 55th anniversary in June, 2016. They winter in Venice, FL and summer in Plymouth, MA. They have five children, William J. of Raynham, MA, Michael J. of Gallatin, TN, Mark L. (deceased) and Jeffrey H. of Amherst, NH, and Jennifer J. Mortimer of Kingston, MA. He has nine grandchildren and one great grandchild: Angela of Nashville, TN, Erika of Taunton, MA and Emily Mortimer of Raynham, MA; Danielle, Benjamin, and Jonathan Mortimer of Gallatin, TN; Nicholas and Grace Mortimer of Amherst, NH; Michael J. Reiche, of Kingston, MA; and great grandchild, Aubrey Rose Bajercius, of Taunton, MA. He also has 29 nieces and nephews. Bill is survived by his wife, Angeline (Angie) Mortimer, brother, Leo Mortimer of Baltimore, MD, and sisters Katherine Brophy of Marblehead, MA and Dorothy Driscoll of Venice, FL. He was predeceased by his son, Mark L. Mortimer, parents William Sr. and Mable Ricker Mortimer, his brother Robert Mortimer, and sisters, Brenda Cullinane, Gael Kelly, and June McSweeney. A funeral mass will be held at a later date this summer in North Easton, MA. Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Dept. 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or The American Heart Foundation. Farley Funeral Home in North Port, Florida is handling the arrangements.
