William P. Norris, Sr. Cayce - William Pinckney Norris, Sr., age 96, of Cayce, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 12, at Lexington Medical Center. Mr. Norris was born in Barnwell, SC, on May 28, 1914, the son of the late Sally Kirkland Sanders and Benjamin O'Neal Norris. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corp., and in the U.S. Army, and was a WWII Veteran of the Pacific Campaign. He was a retired accountant and a member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church in Cayce. He honored the old Southern tradition of family above all else. He is survived by his wife Nellie Julia Seay of Cayce, his sons William Pinckney Norris, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and David O'Neal Norris of Pawleys Island, SC; his sisters Harriet Long of Portland, OR and Faye Johnson of Thelan, CA; grandchildren Arianne Norris of Cayce, Ashton Norris of Cayce, Ben Norris serving in the USMC, and Shane Norris a student at Costal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, SC; and his caring niece Mellie Kinard of Barnwell, SC. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Judy Kay Norris of Cayce. The family will receive friends on Tuesday March 15, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington, SC. Services will be held at Transfiguration Lutheran Church in Cayce on Wednesday March 16 at 12 p.m. followed by internment at Southland Memorial Gardens in West Columbia. Pallbearers will be Bob Harmon, Christopher Harmon, Edward Welch, Robbie Kinard, Tom Sanders and Ricky Redman. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Mayer and Greg Mevli.
