I've been thinking a lot about Bill and trying to articulate in my mind what it is that I found good in him. I know for sure it was his understanding of people's humanness; he was tolerant of our shortcomings and struggles, and was happy for our talents and successes. And then, I can't think about him without immediately thinking about his orneriness... . my brother and I were chuckling not long ago about how he would say something funny or something that he thought would get a rise out of you, and laugh while blinking his eyes - this is how I will remember him.
