Mr. William 'Bill' L. Townsend, age 80, of Polk City passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015, in Polk City. Mr. Townsend was born in Clewiston, FL, to Henry and Lucia Townsend and had lived in this area for the past 60 years. He was an Army veteran and had worked as a Supervisor for Publix for approximately 40 years. Mr. Townsend enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and being outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Dale Townsend of Polk City, daughter, Sharon Townsend of Lakeland, son, Terry Townsend of Texas, stepdaughter, Christina Turnbow of Tennessee, brother Danny Townsend of Tallahassee and 8 grandchildren.
