CMSGT (Retired) William R. “Bill” Williams passed away on December 1, 2014 in Colorado Springs. He was at home surrounded by his loving family. Bill was an avid golfer, Bronco fan, and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed. Bill was born in Pensacola, FL to Roger and Effie Williams, who preceded him in death. Bill was married to his high school sweetheart, Shirley A. Williams for 60 years. He is survived by his wife, three children, Roger Williams (Donna) of Colorado Springs, Carol Brinkman (Rick) of Grand Junction, CO and Andrea Storrs (Steve) of Divide, CO. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Lindsay Eklund and Eric Brinkman, step-grandchildren, Moriah and Levi Gonzales, as well as 2 great-grandchildren, Aaron and Elsa Eklund. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Robert, Brannon, Byron and a sister, Betty. Bill served 33 years in the USAF and 13 years with DOD civil service. He retired in March 2001. He received numerous awards and decorations including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the AF Meritorious Service Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters (OLC), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with gallantry cross, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the AF Commendation Medal with 4 OLC. Private family services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice.
