Willie J. Cribbs

A native of Live Oak, Florida, Willie was born November 5, 1930 to Gaston and Marie Cribbs. Willie moved to Haines City in 1968 with his wife, and three children, to join his family. He retired in 1995 from Walsdorf Sheet Metal & Roofing where he had spent 30 years in business as job superintendent/co-owner. Willie was a founding member of Calvary First Assembly and most recently worshipped at Stillwater in Haines City. He most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends telling stories, fishing, and gardening. In illness He has been cared for in his home by his daughter where he has been able to enjoy his garden and family as much as possible. Willie was preceded in death by his much loved wife of 55 years, Goldie Lee Cribbs. He is survived by his daughter: Gwen Leithead (Tim) , his sons: Steve Cribbs Sr. (Rhonda) and James Cribbs (Lynn); grandchildren: Amy Fowler (Jeremy), Steve Cribbs Jr. (Jennifer), Jason Cribbs (Christina), Robyn Birdwell, Stephanie Bartel (Kevin), Tim Leithead (Teisha), and Derrick Cribbs. He also leaves behind 21 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren along with many honorary friends and family that consider him Papa. Visitation will be Friday September 5, 2014, from 5 to 7PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City. Funeral Services will be Saturday September 6, 2014 at 11:30 AM at NorthRidge Church in Haines City. In lieu of flowers his family has requested donation be made in his honor to Hospice of Auburndale where their staff has lovingly helped care for him for the past year.
