Joyce E. McMurray

Hiltons, VA - Joyce E. McMurray, 73 of Hiltons, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family. She attended Freedom Baptist Church with her pew buddy, Cathy Daily. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hagan McMurray; her parents, Sam and Polly Ketron and an infant brother, J. C. Ketron. Joyce is survived by her children, Rita Freeman and husband Freddie, Dale McMurray and wife Cindi, Larry McMurray and wife Carla and Amy Daily and husband Troy; grandchildren, Jason Freeman and wife Donna, James Freeman and wife Ashley, Jeremy McMurray and wife Katie, Jessica McMurray, Ashley Daily, Emily Daily and Lydia McMurray; great- grandchildren, Jenna, Kelli, Aubrey, Jacob and Trevor; brother, Harold Ketron; brother-in-law, Gale McMurray and wife Teresa; sisters-in-law, Hazel Wilson, Genevieve McMurray and husband Caleb, Peggy Hughes and husband Ralph, Faye Sturgill and husband Robert, Gaye Williams and husband Charles, Patsy Laughlin and husband Darrell and Nancy McMurray; special friend, Bea Barger; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Freedom Baptist Church, 1536 Independence Ave, Mt Carmel, TN. Friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh and Rev. Nathan Jackson, Jr. officiating. Music will be provided by Freedom Baptist Church Choir. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at McMurray Cemetery in Hiltons. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Pallbearers will be Jason Freeman, James Freeman, Jeremy McMurray, Harold Ketron, Jr., Gary McMurray, Jeff Winegar and Lance Huffman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McMurray Cemetery Fund, C/O Peggy Hughes, 699 Boozy Creek Road, Blountville, TN 37617. Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City is serving the family.
