Rebecca "Becky" Lynn Phillips

Rebecca (Becky) Lynn Denison Phillips, age 52, of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, following a sudden heart attack. She was a member of Oak Glen Baptist Church in Yuma, VA. She accepted the Lord as her Savior in September of 1997. She was most proud of her family and especially loved her children and grandchildren. She found joy in cooking, gardening and bird watching. She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" Dennison and Pauline King Dennison; father-in-law, Brother Kenneth Phillips; and brother, Jessie Dennison. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Nathan Phillips; mother-in-law, Betty Phillips; children: daughter, Christina Fields and husband, Matthew, son, Jonathan Phillips and wife, Billie, and daughter, Rachel Phillips; grandchildren, Leah and Ethan Fields, Jacob and Ruth Phillips, and Lydia Phillips; sisters, Diana Griffith, Faye Miller and husband, Frank, Rosie Roberson and Annie Hammonds; brothers, Larry Gene Griffith, Jimmy Dennison and wife, Garnetta, and Billy Dennison and wife, Sue of Port Charlotte, FL; several nieces, nephews, and the Phillips family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm with Pastor Danny Sykes officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Long's Bend Cemetery in Surgoinsville. Serving as pallbearers will be: Matthew Walters, Ray Hicks, Mark Barbour, Ethan Fields, Daniel Phillips and Donald Phillips. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Building Fund at Oak Glen Baptist Church located at 2836 Yuma Rd, Gate City, VA 24251.
