Edwina Lee Byington

Kingsport - Edwina Lee Burchett Byington, 82 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Indian Path Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. She was of the Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dee Byington; mother, Bonnie McFall; father, Ray Burchett. Edwina is survived by her daughters, Victoria Byington of Kingsport, Donna Byington of Church Hill; son, Jeff Byington and wife Rhoda of Kingsport; granddaughter, Mamaw's angel, Lauren Elizabeth Byington of Knoxville; 3 special nieces, Faye Wagner, Patsy Barry and Ashley Barry. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the residence of the son, Jeff Byington. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Salley and Rev. Herb Harrington officiating. Music will be provided by Valeri Rhea. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rev. Herb and Sharol Harrington for the love and support given to Edwina and her family. Also, a special thanks to the doctors and nurses and respiratory therapists at Indian Path ICU. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
