John Wesley Armpriester

Kingsport - John Wesley Armpriester, III, 72 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2015 at Agape Nursing and Rehab Center in Johnson City. Born in York, PA, John had lived in Kingsport since 2009. He was a U.S Army veteran. John was an avid homing pigeon flier and enjoyed NASCAR. He was a member of Christ the Savior Greek Orthodox Church in Bluff City, TN. John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Katherine Stamoules Armpriester of Kingsport; sons, John W. Armpriester, IV and wife Lee Ann of Kingsport, Steven N. Armpriester of Red Lion, PA; daughter, Tracey Mummert of Dover, PA; grandson, Dain Mummert; brother, Alfred Armpriester of Mt Pleasant, SC. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport with a prayer at 6:30 pm. Friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 am Thursday at Christ the Savior Greek Orthodox Church, 150 Elizabeth Ann Circle, Bluff City, TN with Rev. Father Stephen Mathewes officiating. A military graveside service will follow at 1 pm at Mtn. Home National Cemetery with the American Legion Post 3/265 conducting the rites. The Color Guard will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ the savior Greek Orthodox church, 150 Elizabeth Ann Circle, Bluff City, TN. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport is serving the Armpriester family.
