Carroll Gillenwater
September 3rd, 1963 - February 10th, 2015
Kingsport- Carroll Gillenwater, 51, of Kingsport, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday (February 10, 2015) at his residence following a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of this area. Carroll always loved to do his "Hotwork". He especially loved attending church and spending time with his family. He was special and loved by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Caldwell and Lilly Gillenwater; sister, Wanda Oaks and two brothers, Homer and LC Gillenwater. Carroll is survived by his sisters Nellie Hutson and husband Tommy (with whom he lived for 14 years), Shirley Dixon and husband Leonard, Shelby Thacker and husband Charlie, Elizabeth Barnette, Peggy Bailey, Joann France and husband Jason; brothers, Fred Gillenwater, Bill Gillenwater and wife Susie, J.C. Gillenwater, Norman Gillenwater and wife Donna; special niece he loved dearly Sabrina Stoks and husband Chad along with their two children whom he loved Micayla and Marley, "mamaw" Blanche Salley; special great nephew he loved Dristan Bailey; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm Friday, February 13, 2015 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport 520 Watauga St. Kingsport, TN. A funeral service will follow in the chapel with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh officiating. A graveside service will be conducted 1pm, Saturday, February, 14, 2015 at Oak-Hill Memorial Park with Tommy Hutson, Chad Stoks, Roger Barnette, Ricky Key, Dristan Bailey, and Mason Malcolm serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Carter-Trent Funeral Home by 12:15pm to go in procession to the cemetery. Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport is serving the Gillenwater family
