Ernest Blease

Dr. Ernest Basil Blease Jr., age 84, passed away on Friday, February 23rd, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Ernest was born in Columbia, South Carolina on February 1st, 1934 to Ernest Basil Blease Senior and Cora Lee “Bobbi” Blease (Carroll). After graduating from Central High School in Omaha, Nebraska he went onto the University of Omaha and graduated in 1956. He attended the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and graduated in June of 1959. Ernest received his license to practice medicine in Colorado in 1960 and opened practices in Springfield, Lamar and finally Denver, Colorado where he remained in practice until 2007. Survived by Janis (Waddick), his wife of 18 years, five children; James Blease (Susan), Pamela Barth(Brad), Dr. Robert Blease(Elizabeth), Douglas Blease(Valerie) and Lindsay Hendrix(Kaler), three stepchildren; Jocelyn Armstrong, Jeremiah Armstrong and Jessie Enloe(Matt), and five grandchildren; Lauren Blease, Jon Barth, Hannah Corrum, Johnnie Rose Armstrong and Hollyn Hendrix. He was also survived by his most beloved dogs, Harley, Dixie, and Coco. Ernest brought countless lives into the world as a family practice physician and continued to embrace the medical practice for fifty years. Ernie was well known for his excellence in medicine, generosity, incredible sense of humor and devotion to his family and four-legged friends. He will forever live in our hearts as he has been the keystone of our family.
