Judith Elizabeth Walker passed away August 16, 2007 after battling pancreatic cancer for seven months. Born September 22, 1941 to Robert James Lynch and Lucille Mathilda (Gaa) Lynch in Chicago, Illinois, she is survived by her husband, Ronald M. Walker, two cousins, Conrad E. Schick and Howard L. Schick, several nieces and nephews, her godchildren, Scott, Sonya and Jason Shepard and their mother, Charmaine Andrews. She graduated from Downers Grove Community High School in 1960 and married Frank Shonka three years later. Following their divorce in 1972, Judie worked hard at two jobs while attending evening classes at Troy State University in Montgomery, Alabama and received her degree in education in 1979. She graduated with honors and enjoyed an eighteen year career teaching elementary and special education children in Alabama and Florida. Ron and Judie were married in 1996 and began a fulltime travel adventure that lasted until her death. She enjoyed sightseeing, amateur radio, mystery novels, plastic canvas needlework and fishing, especially in Alaska. Judie's remains will be cremated and her urn placed in a niche at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington to wait for Ron to join her. A memorial service will be held at the All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup, Washington on August 28th at 10 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at the parish center. Judie requested that in lieu of flowers, those who wish may have a mass dedicated to her at a local Catholic church in your area.
