Derek Michael Miller

Derek Michael Miller was born April 12, 1988 in Bellevue, Washington to Derryl and Tammy Miller of Auburn. Derek passed from this world May 2, 2012 at the age of 24. He graduated from Auburn High School, Class of 2006. Derek is survived by his wife Malori of Bonney Lake, sister Elizabeth of Renton, sister Jen of California, sister-in-law Shalise(Chey & Corbin and Jude) of Bonney Lake, Grandma Shirley of Bellevue, Oma Monty of Olympia, Grandfather Ron of Arizona, as well as numerous Aunts and Uncles, cousins, and friends. Derek was an avid gamer who loved electronics and trivia. He loved animals! Derek fought hard and valiantly this past year and became a hero to many who followed his journey. His laugh, love and friendship will be missed by so many. Services will be held Satruday, May 12, 2012 at 11 am at Sumner United Methodist Church at 901 Wood Ave Sumner. Reception will follow at the family home in Auburn following the services. In lieu of flowers remembrances can be made in Derek's honor to The Auburn Food Bank, Auburn Valley Humane Society, or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to publicly Thank the staff at the UWMC, Multicare/Hospice, SCCA, and everyone who rallied in support of Derek through Team Derek. Your love and prayers were such a comfort to him and his family. Derek will be deeply missed and forever loved.
