Patrick (Pat) Sullivan, 81, embarked on his final journey, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Born in Plattsburgh, NY to Fran and Ginny Sullivan, Pat carried with him an honest, faithful, hard-working, yet mischievous spirit with a knack for blending his sense of humor with the cherished moments of life. By his side throughout his life's adventures was his wife of almost 30 years Renauta, who was his anchor and steadfast rock. His legacy is also carried forward by his adult children with Karen: Kelly Freedman (Bernie), Tina Paccione (Michael), and Pete Sullivan (AnnMarie). Also surviving him are his step-children, Elissa Rodrigues (Marc), Lauren Hunt (Darin), Clayton Jacob (Marla), and Cara Neff (Tony). Pat's 12 grandchildren were the apples of his eye and brought him so much joy and laughter….Logan (Mary Cate), Evan, Wyatt, McKenna, Joe, Nick, Olivia, Max, Zac, Brayden, Isla, and Miller. They will have endearing and hilarious stories of their beloved "Grampa" and "Pap" to tell forever! His beloved brothers, Tom, David, and Bruce, alongside their families, remember a caring older brother whose laughter echoed the loudest. While Pat got his start in upstate NY in the family apple orchard business, Venice embraced his entrepreneurial spirit when he founded Gulf Breeze Landscaping in Englewood, Florida in 1978. And for over 40 years, the Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary Club was graced with his commitment, character, and sense of humor. Pat's passion for boating and fishing were eclipsed only later in life by his exhilarating hobby of lawn mower racing. Pat "Rocket Man" Sullivan's 13 custom-made racers stand testament to his love for the speedy sport and the bonds he built racing with his family and fellow racers who became friends through his Rocket Man Racing Team. After enough championships, trophies and titles filled his mantle, Pat retired from racing. But he didn't sit still for long. Soon, he took up a new hobby as a master woodworker, impressing everyone with his artistic talent and ingenuity. Pat crafted pieces that beautifully blended form with function, leaving tangible memories of his artistry for generations. Pat had a cup that read, "The Man, The Myth, The Legend." and it wasn't just a cup; it was a testament to Pat's enduring impact on those around him. His legacy stands as a beacon of steadfast principles, the resounding echo of laughter, the wisdom of enduring life lessons, his unwavering stance in his convictions, and of prioritizing family above all else. Whether it was fishing, building a working mini train for his grandkids while teaching them about the thrill of go-cart rides, or sharing his homemade ice cream machine, Pat lived every moment fully. We are forever grateful for the wisdom, love, and humor Pat shared. He was so loved and will be terribly missed, even though we know he's resting in God's presence - and showing everyone in Heaven how to race lawn mowers! The void he leaves is immeasurable, but the legacy of joy, passion, and family-first values will endure. A Celebration of Life will be held to honor the memorable life of Pat Sullivan on January 6, 2024. In remembrance, donations can be made to Christ Venice Church or Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary, Englewood, FL.
