Clyde Leavitt Rushton, 97, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his home in Lakewood, Washington. Born May 15, 1917 in Logandale, Nevada to Frederick John and Mabel Leavitt Rushton. Married Grace Norris in 1942 in Tacoma. Together they raised 8 children. Grace passed 1984. Married Carroll McMullin in 1985. Preceded in death by his wives Grace and Carroll, a son Edwin, a great grandchild Emory Jed Bolton, 13 siblings, a step-son David (Tracy) McMullin. Survived by 6 sons and 1 daughter; Denton Clyde and Sandra (Hughes) of Lakewood, Harold and Jill (Boronda) of Albequerque, New Mexico; John and Candice (Larson) of Puyallup, Paul and Patsy (Bender) of Gig Harbor, Robert and Laurie (Nelson) of Midland, Texas; Ted Rushton of Gilbert, Arizona; Barbara and Curt Pollard of Lacey; 44 grandchildren, 107 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Ned Rushton, Bountiful, Utah; two sisters, Edith (Robert) Fryberger, Sun River, Montana; And Mary (Leon) Inman, Graham; 7 Step-Children; Jolayne (John) Eastman, Graham, Lynette (Larry) Clark, Federal Way, Phil (Joy) McMullin, Vashon Island, Jerry (Connie) McMullin, Caldwell, Idaho; Nadine (David) Adams, Portland, Oregon; Wallace (Kim) McMullin, Renton; 30 step-grandchildren, 105 great step-grandchildren, and 5 great, great step-grandchildren. Clyde came to Ft. Lewis in 1941 and served in the Army 41st division WWII from 1941-45 stationed at New Guinea. He was a carpenter by trade and had a family business. He retired from Ft. Lewis in Civil Service as an engineer. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His life revolved around his family, his church, friends, carpentry and quilting. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 6, 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10018 Farwest Drive SW, Lakewood, WA. Viewing prior to the funeral at 9:00 a.m.
