Kenneth Dale Hartman

Kenneth “Kenny” D. Hartman, 85, widower of Carolyn Hartman, passed away peacefully in his home on May 27th, 2024. Born in Fulton, Illinois, he was a son of the late Willard and Cornelia Hartman.

Kenny proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1965, and retired from the SCANA Corporation VC Summer Nuclear Station after many years of service.

Kenny is survived by his daughter, Tina Thompson (Paul); son, Kenneth D. Hartman Jr. (Maryann); grandchildren, Shelby Thompson (Austin Parker), Amanda Thompson, Chase Hartman (Kaela), Heather Harmon and Christopher Daucher; brothers, Paul (Marilyn) Hartman and Richard Hartman of Savanna, Illinois; sisters, Cora Mae Stricker and Sharon Orth of Hanover, Illinois; sister-in-law, Donna Gilbert (Dave); and niece, Jennifer LeGrand.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William “Bill” Hartman and infant brothers, Willard Jr. and Rex Allen Hartman.

The family would like to thank Dr. Asheesh Lal and staff at Lexington Oncology and Amedisys Hospice whose compassion and care was a great comfort to dad.

Services for Kenny will be private. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to organizations supporting veterans or a charity of one’s choice.
