"Everett L. Walker, Jr., 50, of Fenton Rd., died suddenly Monday, March 05, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Born in Palmer, July 30, 1956, he has lived in Monson for most of his life and was a 1974 graduate of its high school. He has been the contract manager for the Springfield operation of First Student America since 1999. Previously he was the manager of operations for Laidlaw in Hartford, CT. He began his career in the Walker family business, Palmer Motor Coach and then later Yankee Coach Custom Ambulance, both in Palmer. In his leisure, he enjoyed fly fishing in Maine, hunting in Vermont, and summer family vacations in Ocean Park, Maine. He also had a passion for riding his Kawasaki Vulcan. His father Everett L., Sr. and his wife Diana of Naples, FL along with his mother Carol (Stram) Walker of Monson survive him. He will also be deeply missed by his wife of 28 years, Maureen (Korzec) Walker, his daughter Ashley Walker and sons Patrick and Evan Walker, all of Monson. He also leaves his two sisters Cynthia Walker of Monson and Pamela Walker of Brimfield. Additionally he leaves his wife’s family; parents in law, Frank and June Korzec, brothers and sisters in laws, Michael and Terry Korzec, Shannon Webster, Mary Picco and Kathleen Battige, along with many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 8 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., (Rte. 20). A Celebration of Life service will be Friday, March 9 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Church of Monson followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery. For those wishing, donations may be made in his memory to the Trustees of Reservations, Peaked Mtn. Trust, Doyle Conservation Center, Lindell Ave., Leominster, MA 01453 "
