Barbara "Bunny" A. Calkins

"South Hadley - Barbara "Bunny" A. Calkins, 73, of Titans Pier Rd., died on September 21, 2014 at Holyoke Medical Center. A lifelong resident of South Hadley, she was born October 20, 1940 in Holyoke, MA, daughter of John and Lillian (Montcalm) Edge. Bunny retired from Mt. Holyoke College as a receptionist after working for 26 years. Bunny enjoyed spending time with her family, camping and loved to read. She is survived by two daughters, Lori McElroy and husband Paul of Celebration, FL and Tammi Adair of Granby also Donald Upton, her companion of 36 years, with whom she lived. She will also as be missed by four grandchildren, Shawn McElroy of Pembroke, MA, Kristi McElroy of St. Cloud, FL, Stacey McElroy of Kissimmee, FL and Cpt. Keith McElroy, US Army of Fayetteville, NC, six great grandchildren, John, Marielle, Nicole, Natalie, Hannah and Lily, as well as several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, Friday, September 26, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Donations may be made in Bunny's memory to the American Cancer Society. "
