Beers and Story - Belchertown
Lynda Lee DeMaio
March 24th, 1962 - June 20th, 2017
"Monson, Lynda L. (Allan) DeMaio, 55, of Hampden Ave, died suddenly on Tuesday, June 20. Born in Springfield, March 24, 1962, she was the daughter of Robert and Nancy (Oliver) Allan of Fiskdale, MA. She has lived in Monson for most of her life. Her love of children came from her years as a family day care provider. This then prompted her to obtain her Master's Degree in Education and pursue her teaching career in the Monson Public Schools. She was active in Pioneer Valley Girl Scouts and her adventurous spirit led her to become a travel agent and explore the world. For the past 5 years, she has been a fifth grade teacher at Rebecca M. Johnson School in Springfield. Her creativity inspired so many people with whom she came in contact. Lynda was predeceased by her husband James in 1999 and her great aunt and uncle Owen and Virginia Luce. Besides her parents, she will be deeply missed by her 2 daughters, Amber DeMaio of Monson and Jessica DeMaio of Springfield, with her precious granddaughter Khaleesi. Her 3 siblings, Cindy (John) Durham of Monson, Joel (Sheri) Allan of Elizabeth City, NC, and Wendy (Jason) Lerette of Stafford Springs, CT, also survive her, along with nieces and nephews Jeremy and Josiah Durham, Nicole and Kristina Lerette, and Gisele Allan. Calling hours will be Monday, June 26 from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. at the Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be at 7:00 p.m. following calling hours. For those wishing, donations may be made in her memory to Children's Study Home, 44 Sherman St, Springfield.
