" Ware - Arthur E. Blanchette, 72, of Highland Village, died on February 7, 2011. Born, February 24, 1938 in Holyoke, son of Leo J. and Irene (LeClaire) Blanchette. He has lived in Ware since 2007 and previously resided in Palmer for 27 years. He worked in Holyoke most of his life before opening Finicky's restaurant on Thorndike St. in Palmer which he operated for several years. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Church. He is survived by his wife Brenda (Peters) Blanchette, son David Desautels and his wife Kathleen of FL and a daughter Corine Gendron and husband Gregg of VA. He also leaves 2 sisters Irene Stawarz and Christine Lubold and husband Kenneth all Holyoke, sister-in-law Marcia Blanchette of Southwick, a dear friend Starr Merceri of Palmer, several grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Leo C. Blanchette and 4 sisters Phyllis Hamel, Barbara Roberts, Katherine Bliss and Jacqueline Roy. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 14th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church in Palmer. Burial will follow in the Mass. Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 1:00 p.m. Beers & Story Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. Contributions may be made in his memory to Mass. General Hospital, Lung Transplant Program or St. Thomas Church in Palmer. "
