David Michael D'Alessandro
July 23rd, 1990 - August 28th, 2014
"South Hadley - David M. D'Alessandro, 24, passed away on August 28, 2014 in Pensacola, FL with his family by his side. Born July 23, 1990 in Worcester, MA, he is the son of Michael and Mary (Mills) D'Alessandro. David has lived in South Hadley since 1992 and graduated from South Hadley High School in 2009. Furthering his education, he went on to attend and graduate from Boston University in 2013. From there, he attended Officer Candidate School in Newport RI and chose Naval Aviation. He will be greatly missed by his parents of South Hadley, along with siblings, Nicholas D'Alessandro of Hoboken, NJ, Stephen D'Alessandro of Boston, Joseph D'Alessandro of South Hadley, and Elizabeth D'Alessandro also of South Hadley. David also leaves his maternal grandmother, Peg Mills of Worcester. Besides his family, David touched the lives of hundreds of others. His gifts of intelligence, his sense of humor, gentleness, generosity and his desire to see only the good in people made him a treasure to all who were graced to know David. Visitation will be Friday, September 5th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story S.Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. S.Hadley. On Saturday, a Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Newman Catholic Center, 472 N. Pleasant St., Amherst, MA with burial and military honors to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to either the International Justice Mission, www.ijm.org or Habitat for Humanity, www.habitat.org. For details, visit www.beersandstory.com "
