Shirley was born, July 24th 1947. She passed in the early hours of July 12, 2019. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Charles M. Shelton, brother George Foutz and sister Barbara Beach. She is survived by her daughter Julie Ann Lilly and her husband, Rudy Lilly of Annandale, Va. Her brother Harry Foutz of Fredericksburg, Va., her niece Suzanne Walker of Cumberland, Md. and nephew Gary Smith of Stafford, Va. Shirley was born in Alexandria, Va. and lived in Northern Virginia her entire life. Shirley worked for the Department of the Navy for many years. Shirley has lived happily with her daughter, Julie and son in law, for the last five years. Shirley was a happy soul and loved by many. We will forever miss Shirley’s infectious smile, her humor and her impenetrable spirit. Funeral / prayer service and gathering will be held on Tuesday, 16 July 2019, at 1230 – 1345 at Advent Funeral Home, 7211 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA 22046. 703-241-7402. Following the service we will go to National Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Capital Caring, Hospice organization, in memory of Shirley A Shelton.
