"South Hadley – Annabelle Allen Egerton passed away on January 14, 2011 at her daughter's home. Born in Island Pond, Vermont Annabelle was the daughter of William and Nellie (Morse). Annabelle moved to South Hadley in July 2010. She had previously lived in the Original Leisure Village of Lakewood, NJ and in Norwalk, CT. Annabelle was a much-loved third grade teacher for many years teaching in New Canaan, CT and Laconia, NH. She was a member of the ASCD teacher association. In her leisure, she enjoyed traveling, ballroom dancing and square dancing and made the 100 Call Club. She was an ardent supporter of the Republican Party. Annabelle was predeceased by her husband of 23 years, Clinton F. Egerton in 1999, a sister, Dolly and a brother, Herbert. She is survived by two children, Dottie Cloughley and her husband, Bob of South Hadley and Jon Egerton and his wife Pamela of St. Cloud, FL. She will also be missed by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. followed by a service at 7:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton Street, South Hadley, MA. Burial will be in NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Berkshire Hills Music Academy, 48 Woodbridge Street, South Hadley, MA 01075.
