Memorial

Rhonda Schott-Adkins, 58, passed away on July 20th, 2017 at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital located in Denver, Colorado. Her passing was unexpected and sudden she was surrounded by her three sons, grandchildren, nephew, family, and close friends as she departed this life to begin her new life in heaven. She was born September 4, 1958, in Sterling, Colorado, to Kenneth Schott and Dorothy Schott. Rhonda is survived by her three sons, Thaddeus, Lucas, and Nicholas, and their spouses Traci Adkins (Lucas) and Meranda Adkins (Nicholas), as well as her grandchildren, Koby, Taydon, Kayel, and Amelia. She is also survived by her beloved nephew Christopher Harms, and his spouse Donelle, and their children Dylan and Addison. Her mother Dorothy Schott, father Kenneth Schott, as well as her 4 sisters GayAnn Schott, Lisa Schott, Kendra Schott, and Alexis Schott all survive her as well. Rhonda was a loving mother who would do anything for her children and grandchildren, loved her friends, and cared deeply for all of God’s creatures. She had a huge heart and a gentle and giving nature about her and is now enjoying the perfect garden in heaven with her Lord and savior. She will especially be remembered for her compassion toward others, for being the first one to step in to help another no matter what the need, and for so generously giving of herself and her time to others. Her dedication to helping others is evident in her adoption of many pets over the years, the pumpkin parties, and her volunteering during her children’s younger years at the Englewood Soccer Association and Clayton Elementary School as a recess volunteer. She loved to garden, from flowers to vegetables and pumpkins. She threw an annual pumpkin party each year for her family and friends. She loved to bake and cook and her oatmeal cookies were the best around. She also had a passion for dogs and rescued many dogs over the years providing them with love and happiness any shelter animal would want. Rhonda will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her; she made sure anyone that visited her home had a full stomach as she shared her warmth and joy with them. She was a shoulder to cry on, a mom who believed in you no matter what, a grandmother who spoiled her grandkids beyond belief; a sister that was a phone call away, a friend you could count on when needed. She was a very special and loving person who never judged and always believed in second chances. The world is a little less bright without Rhonda in it. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Rhonda’s life at 10:00 am on Friday, August 11th at Hudson Gardens, 6115 South Santa Fe Drive Littleton, CO 80120, and a luncheon to follow the service. Dress for both events is casual and guests are encouraged to wear bright colors in celebration of Rhonda’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions in Rhonda’s name to her favorite charity: Missouri Pit Bull Rescue, Post Office Box 300802, Kansas City, MO 64130 or visit http://www.mopitbullrescue.org/donate.
