"Brimfield- John F. Napolitan, 58, of Sunnydale Circle passed away September 17, 2006 at home. Born in Springfield, MA May 27, 1948, he was the son of the late Michael and Alice (Wholler) Napolitan. John has lived in Brimfield for the past 12 years, previously residing in Palmer. He was a veteran of Vietnam War, serving his country in the U.S. Army and received two purple hearts. John worked at Cascade Diamond for many years and was a member of AMVETS. He enjoyed fishing, football and the casino. John is survived by his wife of 12 years, Julie (Howlett-McCord), along with his children James, Shilo and Roger. He also leaves his stepchildren Marshall McCord, Marleena O’neil, and Tara McCord along with five grandchildren, Tyler Oneil, Alyssa Oneil, Gaige Evans, Paige Kattler, Adele McCord. John is survived by a sister Susan Soffen of Ludlow and was predeceased by his brother Michael. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by burial at 1:00 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to Quaboag Valley Hospice, 42B Wright St., Palmer, MA 01069. "
