Juliane Schueler
October 4th, 1948 - July 9th, 2018
Julaine Dames Schueler, age 69, died Monday, July 9, 2018, in Wheat Ridge CO, after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. Julie is survived by her husband, Charles (Chuck) of Evergreen, CO and three children: Tamara (Troy) Hobick of Zionsville, IN; Keith (Amy) McLemore of Erie, CO; and Kevin McLemore of Oakland, CA; also a step-daughter, Sarah Schueler, of Denver, CO. She is survived by four grandchildren: Drew and Will Hobick of Zionsville, IN; and Cole and Molly McLemore of Erie, CO. By three sisters: Cynthia Dames of Pine Hill NJ; Dawn (Dwayne) Thomason of Castle Rock, CO; and Joan Dames of St. Petersburg, FL., and three brothers: Dana Dames of Ft. Myers, FL; Jon (Louise) Dames of Plainfield, IL; and Shale (Shelby) Dames of Bountiful, UT. Three sisters-in-law survive Julie, as well: Brenda (George) Orris, of Clinton Township, MI; Bonnie (David) Gatchell of Peoria, AZ; and Lynn (Randy) Stegenga, of Dyer, IN. Also, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Julie was born in Joliet, IL, the first of seven children of her late parents, Joel and Arlene Dames. She attended schools in Joliet, until college, when she attended and graduated from Miami of Ohio, in Oxford OH, where she was a proud member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She also attended Roosevelt University and Dominican University, and received her Master’s Degree in Library Science in 1990. She held an Undergraduate Degree in Hospital Administration. She lived most of her life in Illinois, living in Schaumburg, Barrington, and Lake Barrington. She and Chuck were married on April 2, 2011, and moved to Evergreen, CO, in 2012. Julie was a librarian by profession, starting her career as a medical librarian at Evanston Hospital in Illinois. She later worked for many years as a public librarian in Barrington, IL. She loved books, learning, and nature, and enjoyed sketching landscapes and animals. She sang in her church choir and loved music. She had a fondness for making up silly songs. Julie was very giving and selfless, and a source of amazing strength. She was a wonderful grandmother, cherishing her four grandchildren was very proud of their many accomplishments, sharing their stories and photos often with her family and friends.
