Henry "Hank" Clyde O'Roark
April 2nd, 1955 - February 14th, 2017
"South Hadley—Henry "Hank" Clyde O'Roark III, passed away suddenly on February 14, 2017 at Mass. General Hospital. Born in Columbus, Ohio on April 2, 1955, he was the son of Henry C. and Rachel (Hopkins) O'Roark. He received his Master's Degree from UCLA in Teaching English as a Second Language. Hank taught English Language Learners for 30 years at Holyoke High School and the past year and a half at Nantucket High School. Hank and his wife Ann met in college and then married in Santa Cruz, CA in 1980; they have lived in Western Mass. since 1985. Hank was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, loved the beach and ocean, and reading in the sunshine. He was passionate about his students and will be dearly missed by all of those whose lives he touched. Hank's love will remain with his wife, Ann (McDonald) O'Roark and his three children: Evan and his wife Lauren of Ludlow, Patrick of South Hadley, and Kathleen of Boston. He also leaves two brothers, Bradley of Monterey, CA and Douglas and his wife Kelly of Grand Junction, CO. Additionally, he leaves his stepmother, Jolinda Rockwell of Fort Meyers, FL, and beloved cat Merry. Visitation will be held Monday, 4:00-7:00 p.m., at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home with a funeral mass on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby, MA. Kindly meet directly at the church. A private graveside for the family will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. "
