Richard Blair Robinson
May 28th, 1964 - August 27th, 2021
In Loving Memory of Richard Blair Robinson May 28 1964 - August 27 2021 Psalm 90:10 Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away. St. Mary Episcopal Church 2609 N. Glebe Rd. Arlington, VA 22207 Memorial service will be held at 2 pm- 3 pm Eulogy “A precious one from us is gone The voice we loved is still A place is vacant in our hearts Which can never be filled.” Richard Blair Robinson fell asleep in Jesus’ arms on Friday, August 27, 2021, at Virginia Hospital Center. On May 28, 1964, he was the youngest child born to David and Annie Lou Robinson, in Alexandria, Virginia. In his early years, he attended elementary school Cora Kelly, middle school John Adams, Junior High Francis C. Hammond, and High School T.C. Williams. In his adult years, he worked as a painter as well as a mail clerk. Unfortunately, he was stricken with Type 1 diabetes and had to retire at the early age of 28. Even though he retired at such an early age, it did not deter him from assisting in his community, his church St. Mary’s Episcopal, and with his family. Richard, aka Ol’ Skool, as his family liked calling him, was a loving and kind person with a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. We have many wonderful memories of Richard and will hold those memories close to us now and forevermore. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Annie-Lou Robinson, his father, David Robinson, and his eldest sister, Moddie Portillo. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sisters, Clary A. Robinson, Catherine Gray, and brothers, Ellie Lee, Joseph (Thelma) Robinson, his nieces, Margie Johnson, Tasha Robinson, Rachelle Williams, Blossom Andrea (Louis) Hunter, Annie-Lou Robinson, Sade Gray, His nephews, Vernon C. Webb Ⅲ, Joseph Mann Williams, Elliot Robinson, Micheal Robinson, David Gray, Anthony Robinson, Joseph Robinson Jr., and a host of grandnieces, grandnephews, aunts, cousins, and friends. “Sometimes it’s hard to understand the reason in God’s ways, we wonder if His will is right when sadness fills our days. Try to take a little comfort in believing He knows best and beyond the gates of heaven, there is sweet communication and rest.” -The Family A Luncheon for family and friends will be held in the church annox immediately following the service. Good Morning Good Morning, You are ushering in another day, Untouched and freshly new So here I am to ask you, God, If You'll renew me too. Forgive the many errors that I made yesterday And let me try again, dear God To walk closer in Your way. But Father, I am well aware, I can't make it on my own. So take my hand and hold it tight, For I cannot walk alone. -Helen Rice Don’t Cry For Me Don't cry for me. I will be okay. Heaven is my home now, and this is where I'll stay. Don't cry for me. I'm where I belong. I want you to be happy and try to stay strong. Don't cry for me. It was just my time, but I will see you someday on the other side. Don't cry for me. I am not alone. The angels are with me to welcome me home. Don't cry for me, for I have no fear. All my pain is gone, and Jesus took my tears. Don't cry for me. This is not the end. I'll be waiting here for you when we meet again. -Deborah Garcia Gaitan St. Mary Episcopal Church 2609 N.
