Rudolph Julius Kocik
January 1st, 1919 - July 27th, 2006
"Rudolph J. Kocik, 87, of Chauncey Walker St., died July 27 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Born in Mt. Union, PA, he was the son of the late John and Emma (Toth) Kocik. Rudy lived in Greenfield and Deerfield for many years before moving to Belchertown 21 years ago. He worked at Pioneer Petroleum in Greenfield for many years before his retirement in 1984. Following his retirement, Rudy gave some of his time to the Belchertown Senior Center both as a volunteer and as kitchen staff. He was also a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Belchertown and served his country in the Army during WWII. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 31 years, Juanita (Bennett), along with his children Nancy and Judith Kocik of Greenfield, and John of Beloit, WI, and his stepchildren James D. Milo and his wife Brenda of Greenfield, and Rebecca Ungaro of Albuquerque, NM. He also leaves a sister Helen Oren of Camp Hill, PA 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Friends and family may gather on Wednesday, August 2 for 9:15 a.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St, (Rte. 202) to process to a liturgy of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Church. Burial with military honors will follow in South Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, August 1 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. For those wishing, donations may be made in his memory to either St. Francis Church Building Fund, 10 Park St., Belchertown, 01007 or Belchertown Senior Center, State St., Belchertown."
