"Palmer, Leo C. Bengle, Jr. passed away at his home January 19, 2017. Born in Palmer on April 9, 1953, he was the son of Leo C. and Eileen (Belisle) Bengle and has been a lifelong resident of Palmer. Leo was a truck driver and proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard during Vietnam. He loved played cards and enjoying a cup of coffee or cooking up one of his famous "concoctions". Having a huge heart and friendly smile, he had many friends. Leo will be dearly missed by his children, Lonny Murphy and Kristen of Ware, Mary Fickett and Richard of Three Rivers, Heather Cardenales and Jose of Bondsville and Sarah Bengle and Matt of Ware. He also leaves two sisters, Joyce Nelson of Chicopee and Renee Schlesinger of Enfield, CT along with many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Dianne Dudek in 1975. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 26th at the Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a closing prayer. Friends and family may meet directly at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam on Friday at 10 a.m. For those wishing, donations may be made in his memory to the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke. "
