Howard F. Goodrow

"Belchertown - Howard F. Goodrow, Sr., 71 of Stebbins St. passed away on March 19, 2014 in Cooley Dickinson Hospital. He was born October 14, 1942 in Holyoke, MA, son of the late Francis E. and Arlene J. (Domingue) Goodrow. Howard lived most of life in Belchertown, graduated from Belchertown High and was the co-caption of the basketball team. He retired from Amherst College as an equipment operator. Howard was a family man, whose greatest pride was his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, splitting wood, hunting and fishing. He also loved to watch the birds and sit around the fire pit. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doris (Lequin) Goodrow, three children Adrienne Hennessey, Howard Goodrow Jr. and Sean Goodrow all of Belchertown. He also leaves two sisters, Joan Whitehead of Naples, FL, Frances Lundwall of Mt. Pleasant, NC, a brother Steve Goodrow of Belchertown, aunt Jean Domingue of Holyoke. He will also be missed by his two precious grandchildren, Crystal Goodrow and Shane Hennessey and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A Funeral Services will be held at Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Lake Vale Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to THE INDEPENDENCE FUND, INC.
